Stuckey, Lovetinsky Each Hit 3 3s as Chargers Win at Culver-Stockton JV

Danayzia Stuckey (Peoria, Ill./Limestone) and Hailey Lovetinsky (Overland Park, Kan./Spring Hill) each hit a trio of 3-pointers and scored in double figures, leading the Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team to a 53-45 win at Culver-Stockton JV on Thursday.
Lovetinsky finished with a game-high 14 points, and Stuckey scored 11 of her 13 in the first half. The Chargers (5-6) outscored the Wildcats 16-8 in the second quarter to take a 34-23 lead into the break.
The game marked the fourth time Sandburg has held to team to less than 50 points this season, with the Chargers improving to 4-0 in those contests.
Sandburg will face fourth-ranked Illinois Central at 6 p.m. Monday in East Peoria.
